KPTZ is on the bandwagon to feature Make Music Day (MMD) on Thursday, June 21, a summer solstice musical extravaganza of performances and participatory events in and around Port Townsend, as part of the worldwide celebration of music.
In Jefferson County, 50 or more musicians will perform, teach, and lead jams and song circles. Besides KPTZ, where we’ll publicize MMD events all this week, there are nearly two dozen participating venues where music will be free to the public all day.
Spearheaded by producer-singer-songwriter Judith-Kate Friedman, Make Music Day Port Townsend events will begin at 8am and continue throughout the day until 10pm. At 8:30pm, the finale event at the Cotton Building on Water Street gets dedicated to the life and contributions of KPTZ host and producer Marcia Perlstein, who passed away last February.
Stay tuned for details and spread the word!
